As part of the Welsh Government's Health Challenge Wales program, we are a member of the Healthy and Sustainable Pre-School Scheme at nursery.
We have successfully implemented and embedded five stages of the scheme: the Preliminary Phase, Food, Nutrition and Oral Health, Mental & Emotional Health, Wellbeing & Relationships, Physical Activity/Active Play.
Our most recently completed stage (Physical Activity) was evaluated as of an outstanding standard.
We are now focusing on the Environment stage. This stage focuses on the promotion of a safe, stimulating environment which reflects the importance of people within it with an emphasis on caring for the environment within and outside the setting.
Although the Physical Activity stage has been completed, it is an ongoing topic of importance therefore we continue to encourage parents to access the following resources to find out more about the importance of Physical Activity:
